Dumiac - wow - that is a lot of research - thank you!  And Horia has turned out to be a very interesting husband.  My understanding is Horia specialised in soil and crops during his one year marriage to Cornelia.  Horia divorced Cornelia while she was away, and presumably he was still in Bucharest.  You mentioned the Monitorul Oficial is only available up to March 1916, so I am guessing they divorced some time soon after then.

As for Mihail Ionescu, the husband of Eleonora Tedorescu, they were both living in Bucharest in 1916, and fled to Moldavia probably in November 1916 due to the war.  I thought they stayed there for two years, and then returned to Bucharest.  By Feb 1920, Eleonara was referring to herself as a widow.  But you could be right, Eleonora may have returned to Bucharest with her children but without her husband if Mihail had died in Moldavia.  [I checked the link for the Iasi records but I could not work it out].

I recently found out that Eleonora and Mihail had one more daughter, Aurora who was born in about 1886 and died as a young child in the Agapia Monastery, which may be the monastery near Piatra Neamt. Would someone mind please checking for Aurora's records?
