Hi, can you help me read the baby's names and the names of the parents and godparents.
I read that it says here about Vasili Parcalabu from the village of Gizdita.

I see the same names as stratocaster.
- lăcuitorăi/lăcuitorilor is probably lăcuitoriului, a regional phonetic spelling (Moldova).
- the place looks like Ghizdită.
- instead of a lui I think we see săn lui
- ghetit is cetit
- acest sat is more likely acel sat
Thank you, I have been looking for information for a long time where my Parcalaba male ancestors moved to Rakaria from.
Rakariya village was founded in 1809, in metric books from 1820.
I have researched all metric books for the village of Rakaria from 1820 to 1910. The oldest mention in 1821 of my ancestor Vasiliy Parcalabu. There is no information from where he came to Rakaria village in the books.
I researched the inventories on the website of the Moldovan archive.
And one book of inventories I found a case on the accusation of the inhabitant of the village Gizdita Agafia (Gafitsa) Parcalabu in the theft from the church mug of 4 lei and 30 kopecks. Dated 1828.
The village of Gizdita is located 20 kilometers from the village of Rakaria.
I checked the 1835 census for the village of Gizdita and found in it Vasily Parcalabu and his son George (Diordia).
Interestingly, in the 1835 census for the village of Rakaria, Vasily Parkalabu and son George are also recorded.
In the metric books for the village of Rakaria for the 1820s I found mentions of other people from the village of Gizdita.
Now I am studying the metric books for the village of Gizdita.
I think I finally found what I was looking for.
Glad you were able to find them.

I stumbled across this multiple times myself in old fiscal censuses of Moldavia - individuals were, sometimes, being registered in more than one location.
Help me understand this man's name.
I see here it says " "Васълъ Пъ(?)кълабу"? (Vasile Pa(r)calabu) ?
Where is the letter 'r'?
Is that how they spelled the letter 'r'?

The r is the letter thrown above the ъ
These so-called "letters thrown above the word" or "cat", usually take on a different shape than if they were written normally

Thanks, I'll know now.
These are the records from the metrchieskoy book for the village of Gizdita for 1813, 1815, 1816. Vasili Parcalabu is often written there as godfather.
The very first book on this village for 1813. Unfortunately, there are no more books.
This means that my ancestors were native Moldavians from Bessarabia, they were not newcomers after 1812.
I learned that the village of Gizdita belonged to the Voronets monastery. This data is from the censuses for 1772-1773, 1774 and 1803.
Do you think the Voronets monastery could have kept lists of residents?
the Voronets monastery (https://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C4%83n%C4%83stirea_Vorone%C8%9B)
In the 1813-1820 metric books, my ancestor Vasil Parkalabu is godfather to more than half of the children.
Why is that?
Probably he was a respected man or was rich.
In one year alone, out of 13 children born in this village, he is godfather to 7.

Unlikely to have something preserved from before 1800.

It's likely that he was a respected or well-off individual in the village. It was common for parents to choose someone with social standing to act as a spiritual godparent for their child. The role often came with expectations of guidance, financial support, etc.
